Network diagnostics should be part and parcel of annual preventative maintenance of your machines.

We offer you analysis and measurement of your PROFIBUS DP/PA network and MPI using a cutting-edge analyser – ProfiTrace2 – from the Dutch company PROCENTEC. We've carried out hundreds of PROFIBUS network analyses in the Czech and Slovak Republics.

We'll help you diagnose and, if possible, locate and fix faults on your PROFIBUS network, for example interference, voltage drops, faulty termination resistors, communication faults and lost messages.

Regular diagnostics will improve your network's stability and prevent unexpected failures. Network diagnostics are part and parcel of annual preventative maintenance of your machines.

We provide short-term (one-off) as well as long-term (continuous) measurement of PROFIBUS networks.

    What can regular diagnostics reveal?
    • Electromagnetic interference,
    • incorrect segment termination,
    • incorrect network architecture,
    • short circuits in cabling and faulty connectors,
    • communication faults,
    • configuration and parameter faults,
    • the actual communication cycle,
    • and much more.
    Diagnostics result

    Using all measured values, we'll create a detailed PDF report in Czech (or English or German if requested), which will include:

    • Information about the measurement site (name and description of the measured segment),
    • general information about the measured network,
    • LiveList – a list of all the stations taking part in communication on the network and their condition,
    • names of all the stations on the network if we have the devices' GSD files,
    • measured voltage on all stations,
    • information about communication faults
    • detailed graphs showing the PROFIBUS signal on all stations,
    • assessment of the network and recommendations for improving the network's operability.
    What do we need to be able to carry out PROFIBUS network diagnostics?
    • The presence of an employee familiar with the measurement site during the actual measurement.
    (No training in how to use the tester can be given during the measurement.)
    • At least one available PG port for each segment for connecting an analyser.
    (We usually connect through the CAN 9 connector using a PG port. The absence of this port doesn't enable a segment to be measured while the production line is in operation.)
