ThingWorx is a comprehensive IIoT platform for rapid development and deployment of robust IIoT applications which can be connected to existing systems on your factory floor. This makes it an ideal tool for plant digitalisation.
ThingWorx was developed by the company PTC – a leading software development firm that focuses on IIoT and the security, compatibility and modernisation of processes. PTC has over 6,000 employees spread across 30 countries and more than 750 partners.
In the video above, you can see a practical example of ThingWorx deployment – Smart Maintenance in ŠKODA AUTO. We have been using ThingWorx for developing condition monitoring and OEE monitoring applications for ŠKODA AUTO since 2016. We are constantly adding new devices and shop floor environments to a unified smart maintenance system called the FIOT (Factory IoT).
FOXON is a distributor and, historically, the first Czech integrator of the ThingWorx platform in the field of Smart Manufacturing in Czechia and Slovakia.

As the first Czech ThingWorx integrator, we interconnected ThingWorx with the SAP ERP system.
FOXON was the first integrator in the world to develop a ThingWorx-based application for monitoring FESTO CPX valve terminal diagnostic events.
We developed our own AR application for tablets with iOS and Android and connected it to ThingWorx data. The application utilises AppConnect for secure access to application servers.
As the first Czech ThingWorx integrator, we connected ThingWorx data to a 3D model of a production line and an entire manufacturing shop. The 3D model is controlled through a tablet and a touch screen PC monitor.
We were the first in Czechia to develop several customised ThingWorx extensions, tailored to specific needs of our customers.
Using the ThingWorx platform, we develop our own solutions, tailored specifically to the needs of the client. For example, we have provided our customers with:
ThingWorx is the ideal platform if you want to:
Automated, digitalised condition monitoring enables maintenance staff of a shop floor environment to continuously monitor mission-critical systems and to significantly reduce the time necessary for fault prevention and detection. Thanks to the ThingWorx platform, shop floor systems become very user-friendly, as they support visualisation on mobile phones, an alert subsystem, augmented reality enhanced with data, as well as links to relevant documentation.
All of this allows you to monitor the parameters and consumption of compressed air, electric power consumption, the flow rates and temperatures of cooling water, the temperatures of the main motors, pressing force values, vacuum, PROFINET networks and more.
